View Full Version : Po Campo bags: are my expectations unrealistic?

I just received a Po Campo bag that I ordered online. I bought the Armitage Satchel (http://shop.pocampo.com/collections/all/products/armitage-satchel), in umber canvas. (I bought it on Amazon.)

My bag arrived today, and I'm really disappointed. There are many light marks on the dark canvas fabric, along with several exposed thread ends on one of the top grips. More seriously, there is a misfit along one side between the outer fabric and the inside stiffening piece. This forces one side of the bag to bow inwards, changing the shape of the bag and making it lopsided. This is not the neat, professional bag I anticipated receiving. It looks like it's a year old already, and not in a good way. I wouldn't match it with a nice outfit.

At this price point, I expected a much higher quality of manufacture. Is this typical of their bags, or did I get a dud? I'm trying to figure out if I should see about exchanging it, or simply return it and get my money back.

I have the pannier/briefcase http://shop.pocampo.com/collections/all/products/loop-pannier

I've been very happy with it. The fabric does have some variations in color/texture. I like the handmade quality of that. But if you're dissatisfied with the stitching I'd contact them.

What a cute bag! I just ordered a couple of things that were on sale--the Logan tote for my gym stuff and the Maxwell hip pouch for hiking. So I guess I¡m hoping that the quality overall is good...

If you exchange, and are disappointed in the new one, are you prepared to pay shipping a second time to send it back?

I have Amazon Prime, so there aren't any shipping charges either way for me. However, the box is pretty large and shipping is back is going to be a hassle. Since I'm not hearing overwhelming good reports about their quality of construction, I'm going to wait until I see one I like in person so I can inspect it before plonking down my Christmas money again.

Or, I might not replace the unloved/defective bag at all. Prior to this I thought that Po Campo did all of their manufacturing in Chicago, but now that I know that they have stuff made in China I'm less willing to swallow that price tag.

Hi everyone! Soprano, I am so sorry to hear that the bag you bought did not meet your expectations. We take pride in our products and I hate to think of anyone that is not completely satisfied. Please allow us to exchange it for a new bag - I will personally inspect it to make sure it worth every penny! Contact me at maria@pocampo.com and we'll take care of it. Sorry again for the inconvenience.

Also, sorry if this post shows up twice, I tried to reply earlier but it didn't seem to work.

Best,
