My girlfriend and I've noticed this over the years. And its not just the dog face and people face, its their attitude too. Then I heard on radio with John Tesh quoting some psychologist saying that the owners tend to pick their pets to reflect their looks and personality.

so my girlfriend has had goldens and labs most of her life and our new puppy is a happy go lucky golden and tad mischievous. Last summer I really fell in love with a Great Pyrenees. Unfortunately it didn't work out. And now I found another Great Pyrenees. This one is also pure bred with a goofy look and sounds like easy going.

So does this make me goofy looking? Not sure if I would call myself easy going. I can be in your face... So can a Great Pyrenees.

I don't know why, but I am attracted to the breed. The dog is extra large and I'm on a small side so if I were a guy, I could be accused of having napoleon complex.

sigh... As much as I would like to adopt this dog (http://www.homelesshounds.us/animals/detail?AnimalID=4906270), I can't. My cats come first. So I did the next best thing. I decided to sponsor to help out with her adoption.

so hard.

Very sweet! Somi is beautiful.

I have seen a lot of dogs and owners that look alike, and there are some great website that show amazing photos of this phenomenon.

Myself, I don't think I look too much like a Boston Terrier, but I am small, alert, energetic (most of the time), friendly, love to eat, love to sleep, and a bit fiesty. So perhaps it is true!

It's good to know when it's not a good idea to adopt a pet, but hard. I'm sure Somi will find a great home!

I've noticed some owners and dogs looking alike, but more in similar personalities. There's Ice, an unneutered husky, and his owner, who live down the street; both alpha males, both always flirting with the opposite sex. There's a spry, small retired man with his pair of Jack Russel mixes we run in to everyday in the park; all of them energetic and always happy. My dog Stella is mainly yellow lab; she has an independent streak and is usually quiet and serious, but can be a total goofball on occasion. And she gets grumpy when she doesn't get enough exercise for a couple days. Totally like me! We're also both lean and athletic, but she's blonder.

Good for you for recognizing your limitations and finding other ways to make an impact on her life.

I have some similarities with each of our dogs. I'm hot blooded like Maggie - she and I overheat easily and prefer cold weather. I'm built like Charlie - short legs, long body, easily gain weight. And Sara and I have a similar personality and hair. She's shy at first but once she gets used to you, look out! She likes attention too. She's also got a huge mop of curly hair like me. She's only got a few grays though (oddly enough considering she is still a puppy) and I've got a whole head of them. ;-)

Though, I was really bonded with my previous dog Tango (dobie/shepard mix) and I used to think that 'opposites attract' even in pets because she and I were so close and yet we had not a single thing in common (habit, physical trait or personality-wise). We were devoted to each other though.
