I'm sure some of you gals ride motorcycles too.

I'm looking to get a good motorcycle helmet, full face. I don't want to spend a small fortune, but want good quality. anyone have any recommendations?

thanks!

Haven't done it for years. Probably a good thing. I have a need for speed and should probably only be allowed human powered transportation.

Mine is a Nolan and the bottom 1/2 rotates up to allow easy put on/take off of glasses and sunglasses. Wouldn't want to ride with fixed full face again.

I used to but haven't in so long I no longer know what's out there so can't help. :( Good luck in finding the right helmet though :)

Go ahead and spend a small fortune. It's your head and you only have one.

I always buy Shoei helmets and I always buy the best I can afford. Right now I have a Shoei Syncrotec ... also has flip-up chinbar. Very handy. Whatever you buy make sure it meets or exceeds DOT safety standards and is SNELL approved.

I know HJC has some lower-cost helmets that are very good quality. Try here:

but make sure you are properly fitted and know your size. If your helmet doesn't fit you might as well not wear one.

Same here, I'm on my 3rd or 4th one now.

FYI - newenough.com has some Shoeis on clearance right now in the $230 - $280 range.

Mines a Bell with a full shield that you can remove or pivot up. I also tried to buy one of the lighter colours coz of the intense sun out here in the SW - if I remember right don't you live in AZ?? I also made sure it had "lots" of vents I could open for summer riding.

bell makes motorcycle helmets?! wow.

thanks for your input everyone, I'm going shopping this saturday and will keep your comments in mind.

Yeah, I live in Phoenix, so I'll make sure it has the vents - closeable though! because it's COLD right now! lol

right now, I can't really afford this, but riding around with my...um. not sure what to call him, I guess BF works for lack of an appropriate word. He has a helmet, which he lends me, but then he's riding around with only glasses.

I don't have to worry much about the heat! I have a burgandy to match my bike! Can I move to AZ with you? I started school in Tucson.
