LBS Owner Passed Away Last Weekend

Steve Bowen, the owner of PV Bicycles in Palos Verdes, CA, died on Sunday. He's the guy who sold me my last bicycle. I didn't know him well, just by face at the shop, but he was a very good friend of cycling - and especially women in cycling - in the area. He sponsored the PV Bike Chicks club, and sponsored events and clinics for the group. He was a nice guy, and it's a big loss for his family, friends and the biking community around these parts.

Sorry for your loss - that was a beautiful tribute. I don't know if it's because I'm getting older, or because I recently lost my father and I'm sensitive to these things, but it seems as if we're losing more and more great people more often. I hope you will somehow be able to celebrate his life.

It's not really my loss...except in a collective i'm-part-of-this-biking-community sort of way. Is that odd? But yes, it was a good blog post, and I think there will be chances to remember him.
