I can handle hills ( well rollers anyway) or cold, or wind, but not all three at the same time. Today's ride was 40 miles at a chilly mid 50's, lots of long but not terribly steep or high rollers and over half of the distance in a brisk 20 mile breezes. It is so discouraging to top a roller against a headwind and look down the road and to lose count of the numbers of roller peaks ahead down the road. The last 10 miles were occupied by counting pedal strokes in alternation with saying to myself "that which doesn't kill us makes us stronger" I'm not so sure about that.

I've had rides like that. In perfect weather as well as in bad. You're tough to go out for a recreational or training ride in the cold. I'll go anywhere, any distance, any weather for transportation but I'm completely fair weather for recreation!
