I will be visiting relatives in the Sanford/Lake Mary area at the end of January. It seems there are some nice rail trails in the area and I would love to explore a couple of them. My relatives know of them, but since they don't ride, they're not too familiar with them. Doesn't have to be trails - quiet and pretty roads are good too.

Thanks for any suggestions, and if anyone would like to join me on a leisurely ride the last week in January, you're welcome to join!

I am spending winter in Florida and spent some time looking for paved bike paths. This one runs through Lake Mary, I believe: http://www.traillink.com/trail/cross-seminole-trail.aspx

Too bad you aren't closer to Clearwater. I am there for January and am without a car. Otherwise I'd drive over for a ride.

I just moved to Colorado from Winter Park, which is about 10 miles south(I miss it there!- definitely go check out Park Ave, College Park, Thornton Park,Hannibal Square,etc.- great restaurants to be found and gorgeous houses and streets around).

I would check out

Cross Seminole http://www.seminolecountyfl.gov/parksrec/trails_streetscapes/trails_crosssem.aspx

Seminole Wekiva http://www.seminolecountyfl.gov/parksrec/trails_streetscapes/trails_semwekiva.aspx

Feel free to PM with any questions along with if you are going to have a road bike and want advice on some group rides or other nice roads to ride oor even where to rent a bike from.

Thank you for the replies. goldfinch: I saw your post about the west coast rides and almost changed my travel plans to go there, instead ;) Orlando is the only Florida airport I can get to non-stop from here so it's just easy for a long weekend.

Emily- I may pm you if I need more info, thanks. It's only for a day or two, so I should be set with my basic research. I appreciate the links.
