waxing/shaving down there

does anyone else experience MORE pain after waxing/shaving your nether regions?
I find the hair possibly provides protection if you will from rubbing and what not.

I think the consensus when we've talked about it before, is that the best thing to do is to trim the hair to about 1/2" so it doesn't mat or chafe. Waxing and shaving leave us vulnerable to ingrown hairs and infected hair follicles under the best of circumstances ... and hours in a pair of cycling shorts are NOT the best of circumstances. :p
