Hey Everybody,

New to the forum and new to cycling (haven't been on a bike in nearly 18 years). My original intention was to get a decent, but not too expensive bike and trainer to supplement my running over the winter. After several hours over a couple of days in a local shop, I left having ordered a Trek Madone 3.1. No doubt, it's more bike than I initially have a need for, but now my mind has opened up to considering other possibilities. :)

Can't wait 'til she arrives. Though most of the first several weeks will likely be spent on a trainer, I think that'll give us plenty of time to get to know each other...

Anyway, just wanted to say "Hello" and introduce myself.

Believe me, you want more bike than you think you need. I like to call it "bike you don't know that you need." Pictures when she arrives!

Got a call this afternoon. She's in! I would have gone to pick her up today, but one side of my face was swollen and numbed, from the wisdom tooth extraction I had this morning. I'm off tomorrow, though... :)

I bought a 3.1 Madone last year. Love her! She is a bit more bike than I need, but I'm trying to live up to her awesomeness. :)

I love my Madone. It is smooth and fast. Hope you find yours to be the same.

Enjoy,
