Another beauty of mine. I never had time to build it up, and someone else needs to show her off.

Isn't she gorgeous??? That chart is the closest I've seen - obviously, a traditional/non-sloping geometry. The only difference is that the headtube is 100mm/10cm. The seat tube is 51.9cm (c-t)/50cm (c-c) and the top tube is 53 c-c. Feel free to ask any questions - I would much rather this bike went to one of the ladies of TE than to a random stranger!

Oh! Be still my beating heart! I have wanted a pink Italian bike since 1984...alas, I fear this one is too large. People, this is a beautiful, classic bicycle. Who needs carbon whoopsies when Pink Calnagos exist in the world?! Pedal, you have provided a ray of sunshine to my dark days. (But it's still too big :( )
ETA: those lugs! Wow!

Muirenn, I think this bike would be a great addition to your expanding bike family. Your Pinarello needs someone to converse with in its native language!
(Pedal, if you happen across one of these--or a DeRosa or a classic Merkx--with a 50-cm top tube, um, just let me know, 'kay? I really should keep my mouth shut!)

Um, I shouldn't ask, but is there any chance the horizontal TT is 53.5? (Edit, oh wait. I found it. 53.1?, but is that correct? The chart is confusing).
I really shouldn't ask. I don't even usually like pink. But that thing is hot!!!!
That's not the exact right chart, since my head tube is 100mm. (Hs on that chart.) I just remeasured and the tt is really closer to 53. And, well, it's such a unique shade of pink - fuchsia fading to pink, really. :)

But I'll look later.
You don't need a new bike - you need a new IT department! :)

That is a lovely bike - the lugs are lovely!!
I can't say enough good gushy things about my Colnago. It's 11 years old - the Ovalmaster in the Fred Rodriguez stars and strips paint job (when he won the US Nat'l championship and was riding for Mapei). It's taken me through many a brevet, even though it's such a "racy" bike. More comfy than you'd expect - and I bet the steel is even better (mine's ti and super stiff).

Oh, that it's only a little too big for me. Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing.

Wow, that's a gorgeous frame! Holy cow, I'm glad that it's too big for me or I'd be very tempted. ;)
Now I have to go find something to wipe the drool of my keyboard.

Thanks, everyone. It is, if you can imagine, more lovely in person. I've wanted to sell it before, but every time I took it out of it's packaging, I would just be overwhelmed with how pretty it is, and couldn't part with it.
I AM keeping my Ovalmaster - it's a pearly-lavender and just so pretty. Does yours have strange rear dropouts? Mine does - rear-facing so it tends to pull out when climbing unless massively clamped down. He's a very showy bike, so he only comes out for special rides. :)

I suspect that bike would fit me. Perhaps. The TT appears just a little smaller than my Pina. I did test-ride a 52 Colnago before, and I needed a 50, but it was carbon; very different?
Grrr. It fits you? How tall are you? What is your inseam? (I should NOT ask. Waaaaaayyyy too much to spend, but gosh. Lovely!).
l
I've never built it up, so I can't say how it fit me. My other Colnagos range from 48-51, with the 51s fitting me best (carbon C40 and C50.) I'm 5'4" with kinda short legs 30" inseam. But, I did buy it planning on riding it one day. Just others got pushed up on the list.
For everyone here - the price is very negotiable. Like I said, I would love to sell it here "locally" to one of you, so we can talk.

I'm not into pink, but that is a lovely frame. My bf had a 54cm Colnago Technos lugged steel f/f in Mapei colors. Someone brought the frame into the LBS he was working in wanting to consign it. The LBS didn't want to deal with it so my bf bought it. It was in really nice condition. He built it and rode it off and on for several years. When he thought about selling it I told him he may as well sell it before he got it all scratched up. We ended up selling it on ebay for quite a bit more than he paid for it.

The 52 Colnago I tested looked like this one (http://www.colnago.com/clx-3-0/), but a different year. The 52 geometry is about the same as my Pina, but it felt very different. I wonder if it was due to a very offset seat-post combined with the saddle being too far back. I have to use a 0 offset with the saddle all the way forward on practically every bike I ride due to inseam/torso ratio. I felt as though I were sitting over the rear wheel. Lovely bike. So high quality it was a little shocking when compared to other brands in a similar price-range. (Typical for Italian bikes, though).
Hmmm. I'm 5'7''. My torso is 58 cm. Inseam 33.3 inches. (Funny how we switch back and forth between metric and 'standard.'
Pedal, I was surprised that you consider this bike to be in the realm of fitting you, although I recognize that we are all different. I'm 5'6" and I'm most comfortable on my 50cm Luna. The top tube of my Luna is much shorter than this one. All this is to say that I think this frame has an EXCELLENT chance of fitting Muirenn...:p

To be clear, the Cannondale is the 50cm wsd. The Piu was bought, sight-unseen and although I knew it would probably be too big for me, I was swayed by the looks. Figured it wouldn't be my everyday ride, and for special occasions, it was okay if it was a bit too big and if necessary, I could put on a small stem. That being said, I never built it up, so never got a chance to get a feel for the sizing. I do know that most of my other bikes have a TT in the 51-52.5cm range. My Colnago C50 that I ride every day has a 52 tt (non-sloping) and the Cannondale has a 51.5 tt. My C40 Colnago also has a 52 tt. All my other bikes are sloping, so don't want to confuse the issue further.
I think it's time Muirienn took a trip to South Florida!

Oh. my. gosh. I'm between a 48 and a 50 (my Bianchi is a 50, but it runs a bit small), so I think it's too big for me, but boy would I love to make her mine. Sigh......

For reference, my (sloping) Bianchi XL is a 50, and my 928 is a 48. (Can you see a trend here... and why I need to thin out the collection????)

My Bianchi is a WSD Eros Donna. If memory serves, the WSD geometry, at least for 2006, was different from the "unisex" bikes. I know for sure that a 53 TT would be too long for me and my short stubbly legs need a sloping TT.

If you still have this frameset in a few months, we might talk.
Don't suppose you'd be interested in my too small Cannondale? ;)
Just sold my own Cannondale... BUT, I didn't get any bids on the Piu. I'll be relisting it, so think about it. Really, if you have any questions, let me know and I'll do my best to answer them. Like I said, I would much rather she goes to someone I "know" than a stranger. I would just love to see it built up!

For the love of N+1 someone BUY this frame!!! It's not even remotely my size, I don't even usually LIKE pink, and I keep looking at the darn thing! It needs Campy parts and a rider NOW! :D

I am broken-hearted to report that the bike sold on ebay, and it's on its way to a new owner. I had to pack it up quickly because every time I looked at it I would want to keep it, knowing full well it would never fit me! Ironically, this bike that was handmade in Italy is on its way to Taiwan...

Muirenn, I was so hoping it was you when I saw that it sold. I really, really was! And, well, the empty spot in the stable was filled also, with another ebay find - this one definitely in my size. :)
