I went to the Boston Bike Film Fest on Friday evening and want to share a bit about 2 of the short films.

"Terry" about Georgina Terry, founder of Terry Bikes. Most of you know about her, and this film gave some of her history (polio at age 2) with her talking about her determination to make bikes designed for women and get women riding. Amazing woman.

"(Dis)ability" about a young woman in Ghana, where a disability (walking with crutches) caused people to shun her. But she learned to be a bike mechanic through the Bikes Not Bombs program, and her skill as a mechanic brought her esteem and respect in her community. Inspiring story and determined young woman.

There was also a film about the invisible (inflatable) bike helmet designed by a group of women (in France?). Of 11 short films, 3 were about women and another "Mass Bikepike Tour 2012" was created by a woman. If you get a chance to see these films, I recommend them.
