Each of my hiking boots seem to prefer a different sock. My Kayland boots like a wool sock on the medium thickness side. My Asoslo boots like a super thin sock, and right now, since I cannot find a hiking sock, I use the Powersox. I really like the Powersox but wish I could find them in something other than white. They breathe super well, and for the first time, my socks are not soaked when I finish hiking.

What socks work for you?

Smart Wool socks. If I get a too thick sock, I get a massive blister on my right foot only--strange

My favorite socks are Teko merino (http://www.tekosocks.com/material/merino.html?p=2), though I've only worn their runners, not hikers. They do make a liner in black that looks like it can be worn alone.

Teko fan also. They're my favorite wet wading sock even. I can spend the entire day in wet socks, tromping miles up and down the stream, and still have happy (though pruny) feet.

I love the Teko socks! For one pair of my hiking boots, these work great. REI stopped carrying them. I will have to try their running socks.
