Anyone doing the Worst Day of the Year ride?

On February 12 in Portland OR they're holding the Worst Day of the Year (http://www.communitycyclingcenter.org/wdyr.html) organized ride.

I'm considering it. Although, all the days for the last two months qualify as being the worst days of the year. I need to do more research as to what this ride actually benefits. Cause, I don't like to pay to ride "rides" just for the t-shirt. I'd like to know my money is going for something positive. Do you know if they're sponsoring a cause?
