Any other Who fans out there? I'm so excited for the premier of the new season on Sept 1.
Thinking of having a watch party for my friends. Not serving fish fingers and custard though.

Ooh ooh! Me!
September 1st? Cool! I've been hunting around online to find out when. First I saw August sometime, then just fall.
Agreed on the custard and fish fingers. Maybe individually, but definitely not combined.
I did just order a couple of gifts for DH - a sonic screwdriver (didn't spring 40 bucks for the one with sound effects:() and a little Tardis keychain for his desk. I seriously considered the Tardis lunch box. DH's time trial bike is named the Tardis, because it's like a time machine.
I thought I'd miss the previous Doctor, but I really like the new one. Okay, newest. And I like Amy (can't decide which companion is my favorite - either Amy Pond or Martha Jones).

I am still working to love Matt Smith and the current episodes, but I still am dedicated to watching. This morning I was watching the Badwolf episode, a good 9th doctor flashback.
I saw we're getting the new episodes the same day as the UK, which is cool.

Me too! I though the ads on BBC America just said starting sometime in September, I didn't realize they were actually starting them in Sept 1st! Yay!

Found an 'exclusive' trailer online:
http://www.bbcamerica.com/doctor-who/videos/exclusive-season-7-trailer/
The only way I knew the premier date was from a podcast I listen to (Nerdist). BBC America hasn't done much advertising that I have seen on TV.

I loved the original Dr. Who way back in the day. I'll have to check out the new one.

Tulip,
As much as I love the new series (and I love it SOOOO much) if you want to get youself hooked, don't start at the first ep of the new series, start with "the Empty Child" or "Blink" the first few episodes of the series take a little while to get their feet under them and take off.

Colby,
Just noticed your Firefly call out above your Avatar LOVE!
Seems like in a forum of bike geeks we also have quite a few who-geeks (or whovians) and browncoats! I feel so at home :)

Are you my mummy? Mommeeee...
My favorite doctor was Christopher Eccleston. He seemed to give the role a hint of darkness and gravity. The Hollow Child and The Doctor Dances are still my all time favorite episodes. But Silence In The Library was great too.

Christopher Eccleston is my favorite too, although generally people seem to prefer David Tenant.
Silence in the Library was so creepy it scared all of us. A few days later I was biking at 4:30 am (attempt to see meteors but it was cloudy) and the streetlights gave me 2 shadows. Spooky! I kept thinking, "Hey! Who turned out the lights?"

I used to watch it constantly when we lived in Europe in the 70's, 80'90' and up until we left in 2004 have seen it sporadically since, but can't seem to keep track of where or when it is. Sept. 1 is now circled in red on my calendar and I will surf every hour on the hour until I find it.

The Doctor is my number one obsession in life.
All of my bikes are named after his companions.
I watched 8 hours straight yesterday while home sick.
I inhale #dwsr and Gallifrey Base Spoilers & Speculations thread.

I can't get behind the new Dr Who's but they have seemed okay when I caught them here and there. It's just hard to replace the epic-ness that is Tom Baker, in my mind.

I'm also a Doctor Who fan. I do still prefer some of the older series better (specifically Tom Baker and Peter Davison), but I do like the new series. My husband is also a Doctor Who fan.

I'm loving the 'Pond Life' mini prequles to the season that they are posting online. The first one was ok, but the new one they just released is so much fun!

Sigh. I wish we had fast enough internet to use YouTube.
I did look ahead on the Dish Network guide, and it looks like Saturday is a Dr Who marathon, with all of season 6, before the new episode! Yay! We missed a bunch last year. We usually just up our package for the TDF and maybe 1 more month. So this is awesome! Of course, when I told DH, he said "Oh. I just bought season 6 on EBay today. Darn.". Good thing it was used.

It's my passion in life. I get a VPN client so I can see it when it's broadcasting in the UK so I don't have to wait. I have my own anonymous twitter account just to talk about it.
