TrekHawk, speaking of riding and clothes and all that jazz . . .

The Pioneer Trail - I assume that this warm weather means no snow. Is it a wet goopy mess? Can it be ridden without damaging it? I wanna ride it.

Not sure but looking at a few of the others around here they are pretty soggy. After I read one of Irulans posts (thanks Irulan) about not riding muddy trails as it wrecks them I have been sticking to ones where I wont do any damage after all the rain we have had. Its funny you should mention this one as I went out for a ride with a friend on Monday and we thought of trying part of the Pioneer Trail. We were limited for time though and we did not want to get there and then find it no good to ride. We went out to the Champion mine one instead. Dirt road and easy but as least we knew we were not causing any damage to a trail.

I will check it out for you and let you know.

You have some place where folks are posting trail conditions? Where?

If it had snow, it would be OK to ride. I wanna get dirty but not muddy.

Hmm there might be but Its only up the road so I could go and take a gander at it.

Definitely no snow mate, its very sad. This time last year we moved into our house and it was snowing this year not a flake in sight.:)

TrekHawk- Never fear! There is a storm coming in this weekend, and the elevation for snow has dropped to about 3000 feet. That's down here in the valley lands. I should think you will get some flakes by Saturday or maybe Sunday!

Hey SadieKate - rather than use my limited knowledge of what is and isnt acceptable riding conditions for this trail I rang my LBS. They said its definitely soggy and rough in parts but that you could ride it without doing any damage.

We are expecting a fair bit of rain this weekend though so when you decide to come let me know and I will give you another updated report.:)
