:( That's very sad news.
I've heard, from a friend who lived there, that riding in London was quite dangerous.
Hopefully some good will come from this poor man's death. That perhaps cycling safety will be brought to attention in London, and maybe (crossing fingers), things will improve for cyclists.
How very, very tragic, tho. :(

My boss used to live in London, and she's often told me how dangerous it is to ride there. She feels like it ultimately made her a better rider, but it was still scary.

My heart goes out to this man's loved ones.

That's awful. And the more awful part to me, is that the only time a cyclist's death makes world news is when they're run over by a bus full of journalists.

I was in London for the Opening Ceremony and a couple of days afterwards. Tempted to hire one of the Barclays bikes, but couldn't imagine dealing with the traffic and crazy, crazy drivers! I thought biking in Atlanta was bad! I so feel for this cyclist's family. I also feel for the person responsible--obviously no training whatsoever. Sad, Sad news. :(

The article is a bit confusing.... was it the bus driver that was arrested or did someone else do something that caused the cyclist to go under the bus? I think it is not entirely clear from the way it was written.

There's a piece about it here (http://www.standard.co.uk/olympics/olympic-news/tributes-flood-in-for-cyclist-killed-by-olympic-bus-7999398.html). A witness said the cyclist was on the left of the bus (between bus and pavement/sidewalk) and that he was trying to go straight on but the bus turned left.

It's so sad. My thoughts go out to those who stopped and tried to help too.
