Many of you know I am a professional seamstress, specializing in technical clothing.
My good friends own a bike shop and the gal approached me about doing "something" with a jersey for their baby girl to wear to events.
I haven't had this much fun with job, in... I don't know when. Little Miss P will be very well kitted out when she goes to events with mom and dad.
Notice shop logo on the little sleeves...

I actually went a little crazy and the kid now has a whole freaking ensemble!

Mom gave me one of Dad's jerseys to cut up. I found the black polka dots at Jo Anns, and I have tons of black lycra here.
Little Miss P loves clothes. She is so funny, she will try and grab them from you.

Someone beat me to it. The butt ruffles. Oh my. I haven't seen them in a bit. How cute are they? hehe The whole kit is adorable. You are very talented.:D
My grandmother used to sew me dresses that matched hers..in the 70's and 80's.

I've done a few projects for TE's. Mostly I do repair work some modifications, referrals and contract work with some major players, but technical items only... very niche specialized. This was a very fun project and I'm trading out for some shop jerseys in exchange for marketing. There's no way I could charge for all the time I put into this but that's irrelevant because it was so much fun. I can't wait for a family pic of the whole family in their bike kit!

I had no idea! Do you do outside work? I have a few jerseys that weren't available in my size, but I bought them anyway and need to get them altered (typically, a small down to an XS.) I could send a jersey that fits perfectly, so it just has to be close to that one.

No worries; we can start a baby butt ruffle fan club!
Irulan rocks!
(and for the family pic, be sure to cheat the kid so that the ruffles show!)

Years ago Irulan took the first cashmere sweater Thom ever bought me and turned it into a bike jersey.
It amuses me to mountain bike in cashmere and it's still my favorite winter jersey.

Although now I'm wondering about adding a full zipper to it. :D

Veronica, can I snag that photo? I'm so glad to hear that you are still riding in that jersey.
I don't want Susan or Jeff to get annoyed with me for shameless self promotion but you can email me off my weblink, facebook me through the business facebook page or send me a PM and I'll give you my email address.
Regarding ruffles, mom let me know that the back of the jersey placement of logo is great as they carry her in their arms, backside out, a lot of the times. The ruffles should show like that too. Nichole and Chris ( mom and dad) do a lot of professional shots so I cant wait for pix.

That's so awesome! Love, love, love!!!
My sewing skills are limited, but could be better if I tried and found a class to take lol. My mom and grandma both used to sew for a living. Didn't know that about you here on TE. That's great.
That is one lucky little princess!
Thanks for sharing.

I love it! What a cute outfit.
Also, what a fabulous way to reuse a sweater! It looks great on Veronica and I can totally understand how it would be fun to ride in cashmere.

OK, here she is. Mom snapped some quick pics last night. The word is she actually kept the hat on for a while, and refused to take the shirt off at bedtime.

Those clothes turned out fantastic! Love the ruffles.
Sometimes I think an industrial sewing machine would awesome for piecing and then I realize the machine I want is an industrial long arm machine for quilting. I've tried doing clothing, but it's not my forte. My mom can look at anything and duplicate it with ease. However; she doesn't see the point of cutting up perfectly good fabric into squares and piecing them back into a quilt.
It's awesome when you can put the two things that you love together.

I just bought a needle feed that I LOVE. I will probably use it for pieceing ( on top of everything else it does) because it feeds very straight... and goes FAST too. :-) There is no such thing as one sewing machine.

LOL. That's why I have five. Just like with bikes, each machine has it's own purpose and use. It's always n+1.
