Hello ladies! I am in search of a pant that I don't think exists...:p

-a mid-weight hiking pant (not like the super light weight REI pants I use in the summer)
-low/no cotton-I need something that will dry quickly if caught in rain, etc.
-suitable for work at a bike shop, so brown/green/khaki with beltloops, and resistent to the grease I WILL manage to get on them.
-fit-I have a smallish waist in comparison to my thighs (:( thanks to genetics and cycling they're pretty big). And I can't stand anything at/over my bellybutton, 2 inches bellow is about right.

For the truely perfect pant I'm willing to pay almost anything! Do any of you ladies have a favorite?

Try LL Bean - they have a bunch of stuff on sale right now.

Learn to sew?

Actually, I'm not really joking. Clothes just don't fit me unless I make them myself. Fitting is a perpetual problem with pants, but once you have a pattern that fits, you're golden.

OR, see if there is any sewer in your area (dimes to doughnuts there are) who would be up to the challange. You might even spend less for a better quality product, though I wouldn't count on it.

Just another idea...

You might try Ex Offico too (www.exofficio.com) Most of their stuff is fast dry and stain resistant for traveling/trekking

I like Sahalie.com
They carry hiking pants, training pants, rock climbing stuff. A little bit of everything.

I thought of Sahalie in addition to Sportif. I have a pair of supplex pants from them that are heavier than the usual.

I second Veronica's LLBean recommendation. Their pants actually fit women who have muscular legs/glutes and small waists. In addition, you can't beat the quality.
