I wonder if somebody from TE takes part in the biggest multi stage race in Europe: http://www.bike-transalp.de/news/. About 1000 racers in 500 teams are on the course every day for eight stages. The total distance is about 600 km (385 miles) and the climb is 19,500 m (65,000 ft.).
Somebody whom I know is at the race right now, his team are not professional riders but they are at the 20th position right now.

Heh, I saw your post and thought "what is that doing in the mountain biking section?" :p

My dream race is Trans Alps, but this one (http://www.transalpine-run.com/alps_cross_race.htm).
