Trying to decide if I need to see if I can squeeze into my dr's office tomorrow before heading out on vacation, though am unsure what they can do about anything so I may not waste the money...

For those who have had bruised or cracked ribs - did you have pain when trying to lift with that arm or when leaning over forward? I CAN lift with that side, it just hurts beneath my armpit. Most of my other soreness is gone from my trail fall the other day but the chest stuff isn't improving - sleeping isn't fun - especially when I want to turn over. At least the back muscle pain is gone :)

It may not be no more than a strained muscle beneath my armpit but am beginning to wonder. I am aware of every breath I take - but that could still be muscular. When my bike ejected me my upper body did twist pretty strongly and I hit the dirt really hard - thankfully I had enough presence of mind to keep my arms/hands close to my body so my side took the brunt of the fall.

Hoping I can mtb on my trip...it isn't like I bunny hop or do wheel raises. If it hurts more when I ride then I will reserve my activity to hiking. The beginner trails I ride have pretty smooth surfaces outside of a few roots and I've a FS. I am also taking some books, just in case :(

I am going to go to an early Bosu class tomorrow morning - not do any weights during the class or anything like that - see if some lower body movement will help to ease some of this in case it is just muscle stiffness...

Feeling a bit better today after stretching and foam rolling at the gym this morning. Just being ABLE to do that THERE tells me there isn't anything more going on than some really deep soreness. Will play it by ear this week

I broke ribs 4 years ago and to this day I still feel a bit of a twinge on the intercostal muscles on the ribs that I broke when I do pushups. It only hurts with the activity, not before or after though so I don't worry about it too much.

hope yours feels better although it seems to take forever before they are truley healed.
