I recently learned of six women cyclists who are riding the Tour de France route one day ahead of the racers. Yes, the entire route, stage by challenging stage. They are not professional racers, come from California, Colorado, Oregon and Puerto Rico, and are called Team Reve. A part of their goal, besides finishing, is to raise awareness and participation in women's cycling. Heidi Swift, one of the riders and a writer for Peloton magazine is documenting their adventure at her blog Swift Dispatch (http://pelotonmagazine.com/Swift/content/22/1597/Swift-Dispatch). It's a good read and great story.

Totally utterly admire it! But, too hard for me to envy the ride itself... guess I could envy being that fit!

They did it! Woohoo! What an awesome feeling that must be, riding into Paris and seeing the Eiffel Tour looming in the distance.

Heidi's complete tour diary archives are here (http://pelotonmagazine.com/Swift/articleindex/22/0/SwiftARCHIVE). Kristen Peterson's (http://www.kristenpeterson.com/) blog is a good read too.

So inspiring!

Kate Powlison (http://www.katepowlison.com/) and Michael Robertson (for Reve) (http://reve.cc/blog/) blogged, too. The latter has great pictures! There was also a couple of articles in a Santa Rosa newspaper quoting Kym Fant (here is one (http://santarosa.towns.pressdemocrat.com/2012/07/news/local-cyclists-tour-de-france-ride-includes-daily-drama/)).
