I've got a Bike Friday NWT that was custom built for me (I'm 5'6" tall but the bike is adjustable 2 inches + / -). Has always been garaged.

Here is my Craigslist ad if you have any interest.

Save yourself the cost and time of ordering a new Bike Friday New World Tourist (NWT). I have one for you in excellent condition - Cream Soda Blue, Low Mileage. Custom built size is 54 cm; the bike was built for me at 5'6" but it will adjust up or down 2 inches. Also has an adjustable stem that will adjust/rise + / - 5 cm.

The New World Tourist is built for travel, daily utility, recreational riding and exercise. It folds conveniently for transport in a car, plane, train or for storing. It is the closest thing to a custom, general purpose bike for a person who sometimes needs to bring the bike along. The NWT can carry your gear for an unsupported trip across Europe or the U.S. and still fold up to fit into a standard airline suitcase for easy travel home (suitcase not included).

Specs include: Ground to Saddle is 36.5 in., Bottom Bracket to Saddle is 27 in., Salsa MotoAce Short & Shallow 40cm, Front/Rear Shimano M421 "V" Brakes, Shimano Sora-STI 8x3 Shifters/Brakes, Front Derailleurs - Shimano Sora Braze Triple, Rear Derailleurs - Shimano Altus CT95 (34t max x 43 tooth total), Schwalbe Marathon K Tires 20 x 1.5" (406) 30-100psi, BF Fenders and also comes with a wireless Cateye Bike Computer.

Ready to roll for your commute to work, your world tour, or just a ride around the neighborhood. You'll be cruising in comfort on a quality bike.

Asking $1,000 for the BF NWT.

Oh, so sad you are selling it! If I didn't already have a similar bike, I'd be all over this one.

That's a nice bike at a great price! It's a smidge too big for me - otherwise, I would buy it for a commuter!!

I don't see the price or CL link. What am I missing?

And you already have one, as I recall. Not that it matters!

I looked at DC Craigslist and searched. It's $1000. Link (http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/bik/3084266690.html)

I actually have 2 (update) - I have the Crusoe (which I really don't like to lock - at least for long) and just picked up a very used PR for a pretty good price. It's got H bars, and I've turned it into a commuter type - but I would really rather sell it and have a NWT (tires, better fender coverage, etc). I need something bus friendly (i.e., can come in if there isn't room on the front) that can be locked on a university campus, as I'm starting classes in Aug.

ETA: The current adventure cycling has a nice, very favorable review of the NWT. Can't find it online in a public area.

Thanks for mentioning the price, Tulip. I'd forgotten that important piece of information.

I'm thinning out the herd. Am also selling my long-wheel base recumbent, a Linear. It's a classic 'bent.

You might want to put your Linear LWB bike up for sale on bentrideronline.

Thanks for the suggestion. It's been there and I renewed it last night.

As Blueberry mentioned, there is a very good article on the BF NWT in the June 2012 edition of Adventure Cyclist, Page 36.

Hi, is this bike still available? Would you ship to Australia? Also I was wondering how old it is, please?

Thanks!

The shipping costs to Australia were astronomical.

My DH sold and had his BF Pocket Rocket Pro shipped to Singapore. There are special services that do this for a much cheaper price than mail.
I think it was 400.00, which doesn't seem astronomical to me, considering where it went. Someone came to our house, picked up the bike and the guy had it 2.5 days later. He was quite happy to pay the money.
Almost all of the inquiries we had were from Europe or Asia and mostly everyone was happy to pay for the shipping. We are still getting phone calls, despite the fact DH took the ad down from the BF site. Of course, it was priced well below what we could have asked, but it had been sitting in the closet for years...

Think it might fit a 5'10" guy with a pretty average reach?

Oakleaf - I'll give BF a phone call and ask them their thoughts on the specs and get back to you. OR if you'd prefer I can send you the specs and you may ask and get the information first-hand. Let me know your preference.

Crankin - I was quoted ~$500 plus cost of packing up the bike which is ~$75 so I thought it may be over the top for our Aussie biking friend, Kerrie. In any case, Kerrie decided to order a Pocket Lama from BF directly.
