I borrowed a Yeti ASR5 (http://www.yeticycles.com/#/bikes/asr5) from the shop for tonight's group ride and O. M. G. is it a wonderful bike. I totally fell in love, but, it will have to a love from afar because the bike is $3000.

The ride started with a climb, nothing tough, but some rocky bits, but the bike climbed right over it all. The there was some swoopy down hill, with the usual New England roots & rocks, but that bike handles like a dream. The handle bars are a bit wide for my liking, but so I had to be careful through the trees, but the front wheel held the line and never wobbled.

There was not much in the way of technical riding, but there was one tight turn, followed by a short, rocky down hill approach to a narrow bridge that, once I turned that corner, all I had to do was point the front wheel and swoosh, I was over the bridge with out a second thought.

The only thing I didn't like was that the rear suspension was a bit too squishly for my taste, but that could be made stiffer.

So , now, I have to go down stairs to my real bike and reassure her that I still do still love her and she and I will be together for a long time to come. Unless I win the the lottery. :)
