Bike Repair Stand & Bike Rack

I changed the inner tube in my back tire and now some of my gears aren't quite right. 1-4 slip or are clicking. Am I going to need to purchase a bike repair stand to make adjustments to the gears? If so, I was looking at the Park Tool PCS-10. Is this one any good?

Also, I am looking at purchasing the Saris Bones 2 Bike Rack and I'm wondering if any of you have input?

You might be able to flip the bike over and adjust the cable tension that way but first be sure the wheel is in the dropouts correctly before doing anything else.

I use a Park stand and it makes a world of difference when doing work on my bikes.

I have a Saris Bones, I'm not sure if 2 is a model or the # of bikes it holds? Saris bones is pretty popular and I've only heard good reviews of it. It was recommended by my bike shop. I've been happy with it.

We have had great results with the saris bone racks, we still special order them for customers (shop to small to stock) :)

+1 on checking the wheel is seated properly in the drop-outs (yes, I learned the hard way).

Also check that all the ends of the cable housing around your derailleur wire are properly seated.

Sounds like you've made your decision, but just to mention it - all you really need to adjust your gears is to have the rear wheel up off the ground, moving freely. A bike stand is best because it keeps the bike completely stable and up at a comfortable height, but as broke students (with good backs ;) we just threw a rope over a rafter and suspended the saddle from it, front wheel resting on the ground.

I've been using my trainer--I unscrew the thing that props up the resistance unit and I'm good to go.
