This is my new baby. Been wanting one since I first saw it in the showroom last year and since it's last year's model the guy gave me a good discount today. A girl on a fat bike? Yup. That's me. Girls can do anything.

He's a beast of a bike to get started but once he gets going he flies down those hills like a bat out of hell. Took him up to Omaha on one of the mountain bike trails and he did amazing despite his size and my inexperience. I only tried to kill myself twice between a couple of trees that made the trail very narrow. They need to move the trees or put a warning sign up.

When I got him home he went down the gravel roads with ease. No banging, bumping, jarring, or bouncing along the rocks. It was awesome to pull over for cars and keep going through the grass or the mud.

You gotta try one of those on snow! I've only done one Mukluk ride and we didn't have a lot of snow, but it floated over the few spots I did ride on (and it's amazing on sand--they are really popular on the beaches around Lake MI). My hubby has the mid-level model (the black and red one)...he loves it. Another friend of ours has a Ti one. They are HUGE around here. Of course, the year they really take off is the year we have nearly no snow all Winter long. :p

It's surprisingly cushy, since those tires are at VERY low PSI. It travels over loose terrain like no other bike can. Sandy beaches are no challenge.

Nice! We're definitely a Surly household but I absolutely love the Mukluk and one day I'll get one to do the Arrowhead 135. They're so great in snow.

This is one heavy bike. My legs are SO sore right now. LOL. I'm going to have to build up some more strength.

The tires are meant to run extremely low like 12-20 psi so you float over stuff instead of crashing into it. So far it's been easy on my back as the tires absorb all the shock. The trick is to find the right psi for your riding style. I went over gravel and through some mud with ease.

Salsa guy said all the bikes for the upcoming year have been sold. Not sure if he meant to individuals or to the stores. Salsa and Surly only make so many bikes a year if I understand it right. Same with the other fat bikes.
