So, it was pointed out to me a few days ago, that I'm pretty much at the center of a polyamorous Vee with my bikes. When I thought about it, I'm pretty sure they're right. My ex knew that he was not to interrupt "bike time" & now that I'm single, I find myself spending more time with my bikes than people. In fact, I had to remind myself that Bella's feelings would not be hurt if I went to the bar with friends instead of heading down to the LBS & getting her new whitewalls. Despite how much "she" loves riding the rack through New Haven >>;

Both my bikes have names, and I seriously feel guilty when they don't get ridden. I've seen others around with names and love for their bikes, but I'm not sure if I'm the lead crazy here.

So, I was wondering-anyone else notice that they love their bikes a little more than their non-cycling friends think is normal?

Well, tell that to a cyclist guy who loves bikes. Not unusual for men to love inanimate things. So not unusual for some women.

Only 1 of my bikes has a name, "Baby Day", just so I could distinguish my folding bike from my partner's folding bike.

My partner is going to get a ...5th bike. (He's going to abandon a 25 yr. old touring bike for a better fitting bike.) He went on describing his search for ideal specs...for about 45 min. I understood every word he said and his need to get the "perfect" bike. :):rolleyes:

A bike is more reliable if a gal is going through a phase of not liking/trusting some men.

sometimes I am fonder of my bike than I am of my husband. (said half seriously) This is just between me, my bike and now you guys because much as I love my bike, it cannot pay the bills, feed the dogs so I can sleep in, or start the coffee and then go back to bed so that when I get up at early dawn to go riding, I can start the day with a fresh cup of coffee.

what a guy!
