Does anyone do this? I tried to sign up but the site said that I was on a waiting list. Just curious how useful others have really found this to be.

I do, I tend to pin things but I don't spend a lot (or any really) of time reading others' pins. I still get surprised by how often things that I pin get repinned. I don't qute get how people can spend hours on there, but perhaps I'm not doing it right. Would you like an invite? If you pm me your email address I can send one over, I think.

I recently signed up. I was put on a waiting list but they contacted me within 2 days. Since I've signed up, I've yet to pin anything. I think I still need to get used to it but i do love browsing at all the nice things other people pin!

Did you see this thread (http://forums.teamestrogen.com/showthread.php?t=46568&highlight=Pinterest) and this thread (http://forums.teamestrogen.com/showthread.php?t=46368&highlight=Pinterest)?

I have zero interest in joining. Of course, I said that about facebook at one point too.

I dunno. It requires me to go to FB timeline which I am resisting, dragging my heels to timeline. Nooooooo, I won't upgrade to timeline! ;) ;)

I like Pinterest. I don't think I could spend hours on there, and I'm not totally sure how to search for things, but I have found some AMAZING vegan recipes and sites through there and that's been worth it's weight in gold.

I've given up FB for Lent, in hopes that it will make me much less of a FB wh*re... :p
And yeah, I'm resisting the timeline, too...

What is the purpose of the timeline thing in Facebook? I don't use FB and don't plan to. So am just curious.

Timeline is dumb, unless you're someone who posts tons of pictures and comments. I have 11 pictures on FB, so my timeline wouldn't be worth much. Shooting Star, the purpose of it, supposedly is to give a visual of your "life." But, it's only your life as you've posted on FB. My son has it, but it hasn't changed the way he posts.
I have no interest in Pinterest. I just don't spend that much time on the computer, except for TE. If I need to research, I do, but it's pretty easy to do that on your own.

We are in the process of enclosing half of the side porch to make a mud room & redoing the living room and I have found Pinterest very valuable for finding and storing ideas.
Someone had "pinned" a photo of a closet which I clicked on, which led to a web site, and I worked my way though 4 or 5 links (you know how that goes!) and I found a photo of exactly what I want my new mud room to look like. I've got the photo up on my idea bulletin board.

I just joined Pinterest and I don't really get it. I do like finding recipes, though I still tend to just do it through blogs and FB. I guess it's better for companies/ brands? I don't know.

I thought the same, but it was so incredibly easy-peasy. FB will do everything for you other than setting your "cover" photo -- the big, wide photo that is now on top of what used to be your wall, but is now your timeline. I resisted, but I set it up in 2 minutes (just put the cover photo on, FB did the rest).

I've since gone back and filled in a few details here and there (marriage date, high school and college graduation dates, death of a couple of loved ones), but that is absolutely optional. I really like it b/c it shows photos larger, and you can highlight or easily remove posts you prefer not show up on your timeline.

I dislike a lot of changes Facebook makes, but Timeline is one I actually give a thumbs up. Try it, you might just like it! ;)

Timeline is just a new layout for your wall- heaps nicer looking.

I wonder about Pintrest. It sounds like it does exaactly what FB already can do (what's stopping you putting photos or recipes on FB?) Except it's more punlic. Nothing really amazing new there.

I just joined pinterest too and I don't get it either. I'm not sure if I want to invest the time to figure it out especially with nicer weather coming and the chance to be outdoors more, but maybe on rainy days....I dunno...I have FB friends who seem enthralled with it.

Pinterest is really great is you like cooking. It makes it very easy to bookmark recipes that you want to go back to and/or quickly reference. This is me. http://pinterest.com/glutenfreefit/

I like what I've seen so far, I see it as a nice way to "bookmark" things on the internet like recipes, photos, and needlework designs I might like to do someday. It is a visual bookmark system which is faster for me to determine what I want than the list of links in my browsers' bookmark list. I am not spending much time on it but I think I like it.

I wasn't sure I would like pinterest, but it's kind of cool. It's like an online scrapbook of things you collect from other people and yourself. I don't have a lot up, just my bikes, a couple of bikes I'd love to have and the street legal Tron bike for 55,000 I'd die for. I need to pin up my quilts and some other things. I'm not a big junkie on stuff, but it's cool to have.

You can go to any site and "pin it" into your account. If you click on the picture, it will take you to that site for further reference.

Some people post a lot of junk, so it can get annoying getting past some stuff to find what you are looking for.

We're getting ready to do some major fix-ups in our house and I have found some great ideas on Pinterest...stuff I never would have thought to look for.

This (http://www.abajournal.com/news/article/pin_with_caution_says_lawyer_who_deleted_all_her_pinterest_posts/?utm_source=maestro&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=weekly_email) came across my email this morning. An interesting perspective on Pinterest, that's for sure!
