Good luck, Kacie!!! TE is rooting for you. I'm eager to read about this one! I'd never even heard of a double IM before you indicated you were doing one.

Kacie - I've been following your progress on your blog and I will DEFINITELY be sending you virtual cheer this weekend! The race is in my old back yard (I used to live in New Tampa) so I'll be able to picture you on course and wish good thoughts for you.

Have a blast!!

Good Luck Kacie - a double IM that's impressive, just doing a single IM is intimidating enough for me :)

Just doing a sprint or a try a tri is impressive. I had no idea there's such a thing as a DOUBLE IM

Today, I learned that there exists Double Irons.

I also learned that I am a complete wimp for considering even people that do Olympic-length a little on the crazy-side. :D

Thank you Blueberry.

It would be super helpful for me if people kept posting her times during the day. I have a crazy day at work today and I don't think I'll be able to check in on her that much but it's pretty easy for me to get the information from TE.

So let's keep posting and keep her in our thoughts!!

TIA ladies.

First bike lap done, 3:53:13. Go Kacie!

Eta: it's very hot and insanely windy on the east coast. Really hoping she isn't dealing with the same weather.

I checked the weather in Tampa, it's 81 degrees with winds 14 gusting to 23, so not as bad as it is here, but enough for sure. Go Kacie, you're awesome!

So she's been racing for 25 hours plus, seriously? I could not imagine a full IM, a double? AMAZING! And to in 3rd pace...you go girl!!

Wow; that's awesome.

Did I do my math right? You rode a bit over 17 miles an hour for 224 miles? That, on its own, is impressive. Add in the swim and run of a double IM and I'm just in awe.

Yup--that's right. The wind was rough though. Without that, it would have been a smidge higher for sure, but I had to ride the hand that the weather dealt me on that day!Not trying to complain for sure, but the weather was tough!

I concure with everything everyone has said. Your reports were great. How could you stay so calm throughout all of this? When you were out there were you just exicuting your plan and was it that that gave you confidence? How did you and Coach come up with your plan? I'm sure having done about 5-6 full IM's certanily helped too.

I think it is great that you are now starting to place in your races. You can finally see the results from all of your hard efforts. Take care of yourself.
