I need to buy a cycling jacket - ideally something that will provide some level of water resistance/proofing and windproof, although I guess anything that is water proof will also be ok in the wind!

I'm looking at this one at the moment...

Does anyone have this jacket, or can more experienced cyclists comment on its suitable as a cycling jacket. Otherwise I may have to look at male jackets so I can get something to fit:(

I have had to purchase men's jackets because the women's just don't fit. My cooler weather jacket is the LG Geminix (http://www.amazon.com/Louis-Garneau-Geminix-Jacket-Mens/dp/B003YC48U4) It is water proof. I only bought after trying on the women's 2x and it was too snug to put multiple layers under. My not so cool weather jacket is water resistant and wind blocking. It is a Canari
eclipse (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Canari-Eclipse-II-Mens-Cycling-Jacket-2XL-XXL-Bicycle-/250969220573?pt=US_Men_s_Athletic_Apparel&hash=item3a6eee65dd). I tried several of these on at REI but ended up buying on-line to get the size I wanted. Canari sizing is very hit and miss. The men's xl at REI was too snug and the 2xl I bought on Ebay is a bit too big. I could not find any women's jackets I liked that I was certain would fit me.

I do like the longer backs on cycling specific jackets, but for years before I bout these, my regular jackets worked fine while biking. I finally decided that I needed the extra visibility so I went to cycling jackets. Good luck with your search.
