LOL!!! No...it's strange. I make time to work out at least 3-4x/week now by running, and I think I *thought* i needed to eat more when I was cycling to work...

I know exactly what you mean! I always tend to overeat when I'm working out often and commuting. That's why I pay someone to tell what to eat and when nowadays. He also happens to tell me what strength training to do and gives me a riding schedule each week. Worth $45/mo!

Reesha - what is the title of the person who tells you all of this? Cycling coach? Sports nutritionist? Personal Trainer? I've heard of the latter who will do all of those things, but the only trainers I know simply focus on gym-related activities...

Zach is... special. He's a professional personal trainer, but additionally he is a national level mountain bike racer. I found him through our local biking forum and he was recommended to me by one of his friends. Basically he's a cycling coach that works with people who have specialized goals. He drew up a plan based on my particular goals and the plan has been evolving as I lose weight and get closer to my big ride this summer. He's awesome!!! I think he's inexpensive right now because he's just starting up his business. He only has five or six clients. I only see him once ever three weeks to check in and learn the next phase of the strength program.

Sounds awesome Reesha, I need someone like him. I tend to go too far either direction so it would be very helpful to find someone like that. I suspect if there is anyone local who would be willing to help with the "full package", so to speak, that it would be outside my price range.

I was certainly prepared to spend 80/hr for a personal trainer, but this turned out so much better. The plans he works up are $10/wk and then sessions are 45/hr. I reallllly lucked out. Whenever I eat I should imagine him sitting on my shoulder counting the macronutrients... diet is my main weakness!

I posted the jpg's of both of these posters on my Facebook stream. The Snoopy one got a lot more "Likes". I guess the car/fat one hit maybe just a bit too close to home for some folks.
