There are always so many lovely, funny and sad stories about dogs on TE, I thought it would be good to put up a Poll on here, for breed of dog(s) people own, or have owned.

It would take too long to troll through all the 'Dog' threads, so if anybody wants to add to the list here, I am more than happy to start a new Thread plus Poll.

OK, I am starting the with:

Beagle

Golden Retriever, with the possibility of some yellow lab mixed in there.

Dalmatian.
I think I owned the dumbest exemplar of the breed.

Yorkie here. We keep her hair short because it just doesn't feel right to spend more time grooming my dog's hair than my own hair:rolleyes:

Greyhound.

He's a puppy, not an ex-racer, but a rescue all the same. Some clients of mine found him wandering down the side of the road, shot up with BBs. We're up to 32 pounds and you can only barely see his ribs (10 pound gain over 2 months)!

Shiba Inu -the most popular dog in Japan and no one in the US has heard of it, a small hunting dog, smart smart dogs
Italian Greyhound - one of the rarer breeds and jealously guarded by good breeders, so not necessarily easy to get, fragile and spoiled by breeding - an Iggy would never dream of going out in the rain, for example

(and a mutt)

I have a Pomeranian that I got at a animal shelter 7 years ago (I was a volunteer at the time) She picked me really......I knelt down in front of her cage and she jumped in my lap and licked my nose :p I added a recent pic of her getting a Laser treatment at work for her bad back :( I'm the one with the tattoos....

Hey, careful who you call "no one". :p Their coat is one of the most gorgeous in the doggie kingdom. They look like small and fuzzy Akitas that are equally stunning dogs.

I had an English Bulldog growing up - back before they were one of the most popular dogs. I adored her and still miss her to this day. I would love to have another Bullie. :)

Two lovable but obnoxious doxies. One is a red dapple smooth hair, age 15, and the other is a long-haired silver dapple, age 8.

Like many, I've had several types of dogs over the years. In the past 25+ years I've had all golden retreivers and within the last two years I also rescued a chocolate lab. My goldens are all gone now, Shanna the chocolate is still here and more than likely will get another golden in the near future.

Great poll!!

All the dogs that have been a part of my life came from the shelter, so breeds are a best guess. My current canine housemate looks and acts like a yellow lab, just 15 lbs smaller. Her predecessor was a mutt, pure and simple, more terrier than anything else.

Mine are across the Rainbow Bridge: Aussie shephard who didn't grasp the "fetch" concept: and a spaniel mutt (springer?) who was a tad slow, and didn't fetch either. Both rescues, and both had nice proper long banner tails (no tail docking for them).

Choc. lab - very needy, but a real love.
Beagle - all about her next meal.

Previous: Yellow lab and another Beagle. Do we see a pattern here?
