I just got word that my Moots (http://moots.com/our-bike/mtb-26/ybb-26/overview/) frame is in the finishing stages and I should have it in less than a week. :D:D:D

Good thing I've been saving my pennies.:eek:

ETA - I guess I had better get my act together and sell my carbon Specialized Safire. Stay tuned for a for sale posting.

Oh my; that bike is hot. I have a Moots compact roadie. It's purty. Are you dressing yours up with any pops of color? Mine has bits of red (Chris King headset and Hope skewers).

Enjoy!

Yes, Indy, that is the plan. I went with more subdued decals so I can do some fun stuff with the components and not have to worry about any colour clashes.

My husband is green with envy! That's his dream bike!! Be sure to post pics if the finished build.

ETA: What fork are you planning to use?

Oooooohhhh love it!!! I am hoping to one day have some titanium in my stable. Can't wait to see her (or him) when you get it in. How hard to wait.

So now, I'm compiling two spread sheets, one for the dream build and one for the economy build (in my case what that means is the build where I think you get the best bang for your buck, not the cheapest build, usually this is about 3/4 of the way up the quality scale).

I'm lucky enough to have a SO that owns a bike shop, so I can get my parts at shop cost. :D:D:D But, he also wants me to look through all the options and decide what I want instead of just telling me what I should get. Is it possible that I love him for this, but at the same time am a little annoyed? It's a lot of stuff to look through and decisions to make!:p

Ahhhh, how great it is to have this be my greatest concern at the moment.

Congratulations on the new mtb Moots! This time last year I was starting to make those same decisions for my Gunnar and had a lot of fun doing so :) So nice that you are able to focus on this right now, and awesome that your SO both owns the shop and wants you to make your own decisions :D

That is such a great frame! And you've got a great partner helping you build it up! :) (I think you and I may have discussed this, but we've gotten several bikes, frames and build kits from GVH).

My husband got his SRAM groupset from GVH. That's your BF? DH speaks very highly of his experience with GVH (and we both like drooling over the shop's frames).

Yes, Tom of GVH Bikes is my SO. And he is fabulous. I'm a little biased of course. I'm glad that you've both had good experiences.

The "shop" is contained in our 2 car garage (that's the parts warehouse) and the studio apartment above (his workshop and office). It's really fun to watch new frames and parts come in. And I love watching him build bikes, especially wheels.

We've been living together for a year now and this will be the first of my bike builds that I will actually be able to help with hands-on. I'm pretty excited.

It's been really fun to help him with things as well. He offers bike fitting now (that's one of my skills) for people that want to come to the shop to pick up their bikes. It's so great to see the looks on their faces when they see their new bike in person for the first time.

I am so OCD I am not sure I could do a build. It took me over two weeks just to narrow down how I wanted Industry Nine to do my wheels. Thankfully they are the only ones who make purple hubs or it would have been probably 4 weeks!
