I've been eating a low-gluten diet, just for the health benefits. And had reduced my daily diet to almost no gluten at all. I do eat oatmeal, which is gluten-free but can sometimes contain traces of gluten because of the processing. Anywho . . .

I took about 10 days off of training and exercising after Christmas. Just stayed home with the kids, slept in, lazed around, etc. I made big breakfasts every morning. It was nice and relaxed. But then I suddenly bloated up! Almost 2 sizes!!! My doc. said that there is no way I could have bloated up that much over 10 days, even if all I ate was junk. She's certain that its a symptom that I'm very sensitive to Gluten.

Now I need to get back to a more structured diet and work towards eliminating Gluten all together. Fun times.

I bet it feels good to have some answers. Even if they aren't the best answers. Condolences and congratulations!

Yup. I know exactly how you feel. I go home and indulge in gluten products - including rice and corn - and the horrible feeling my abdomen from the bloating is unbearable. It's just so hard to resist fried calamari! I'm technically celiac so I shouldn't be doing it at all, but I survived the last 10 years feeling really uncomfortable, a couple of days can't be that bad...

Don't worry, gluten-free isn't so hard! I've found loads of great substitutes and really other than sometimes annoying others with my label-reading in grocery stores and other brought-to-work packaged foods... it's so wonderful to feel "normal".
