DH and I lost our beloved dog this morning. She had been sick off and on but always pulled right through. I really don't want to get into details...because it will make me very sad. DH took the day off and luckily I was able to leave work early as her health was failing rapidly. We had planned to have a vet come to our home to help her with her departure. She died in our arms about 1 hour before he came. Let me see if I can attach a pic of my baby dog..she was 14.5 yrs old as of today.

Looks like she was a sweetie. I'm sorry - it's always so hard to say goodbye. Particularly at the holidays.

Lousy time of year to lose a fur-baby. Not that any time of year is particularily good. So sorry for your loss.

The TE group at the Rainbow Bridge has gotten bigger. Pooh.:(

I am so sorry, solobiker! She had a good long life, but it is never enough. We lost our first Boston Terrier at 14 years, 9 months back in 2006 (one week before Christmas), and I still wanted more time with her! It is so hard.

Cry it out and grieve all you need. You'll never forget her, and your memories will give you smiles one day, I promise.

oh solobiker, I'm SO sorry for your loss. I'm glad you were there to comfort her during her last moments with you- being cradled in your arms and feeling your loving warmth. My fur babies and I are sending you all our love and heart-healing vibes. Be gentle with yourself, a death in the family is always difficult. :( Hugs to you.

((solo & solo DH))

I am so sorry for your loss. Just know that my recently departed Raven was there waiting for her. It brings tears to my eyes because the pain is still fresh for me. (we lost our girl Christmas Eve) I know exactly what you are going through.

Hold tight to those cherished memories of her. The littlest thing will bring back a flood of memories. Our fur babies are a huge part of our lives. The memories of her in puppyhood and good health...and all those times they made you laugh so hard you cried sometimes, will get you through.

sending hugs your way.

She was a beautiful girl. looks like a Shih Tzu??

I'm so sorry for your loss, solobiker! She looks like a sweetheart and I'm sure she was pleased to have you with her at the end.

Why must there be so many rainbow bridge crossings at the holidays? :(

Thank you for all of the comments. It still brings tears to DH's and my eyes. It is so quiet in our house without the sounds of her feet on the floors, her snoring,..etc. I just finished stretching after my workout and she used to lay her head across my neck or chest while I was stretching..Gosh I miss that:(

Yes she was a Shih Tzu..although she always thought she was a little person:p

Thanks again
