After years of wishing and pondering - I now am the proud owner of a digital camera! A compact Canon SD. Should fit nicely in a bike bag - one of my main requirements. Once I get it all figured out, get the software loaded, etc., I can join those of you posting pics! I am so excited! Unfortunately, with about 6-8 inches of snow on the ground, as of today, I may not have any bike photos to post. :( Perhaps I'll go with a ski avatar until we get some warmer temps and clearer roads. If I need help, I'll be asking............. so thanks in advance to any of the photo pros on the boards. :)

Sounds like you're going to have loads of fun with your new toy!
The best advice I can give is to take it with you whenever you can - have had so many "Kodak Moments" pass me by because I'd left my camera at home!
Look forward to seeing your pics, once you get everything sorted!

Congrats on your new toy! I hope you enjoy your digital camera as much as I enjoy mine.

Since I don't use a handlebar bag, I carry my camera in a very small fanny pack. It weighs very little, so wearing it doesn't bother me when I'm riding. But the camera is near at hand so I can quickly pull it out when I see something interesting.

Have fun...

Congratulations, Annie! For maximum enjoyment of your new third eye, read the instruction manual. I bet you'll be surprised the things your camera can do!!

I'm looking forward to seeing your pics!!

Namaste,

Thanks for the advice, ladies!! I took the camera with me, xc skiing yesterday. Got a couple of good shots. Practiced on my kids here at home, also. I've begun reading all the instructions. Yikes!  Complicated stuff, but I suspect it all makes sense the more you do it. Haven't gotten to the download onto the computer part yet, but that sounds pretty simple so I am hoping for no trouble. After that, there will be figuring out how to post. I'm not whining, tho! Not a bit. I look at it as a fun learning experience. Got to keep trying new things and learning - keeps life worth living and the number of years less signigficant.
