Today I flew over a skinny I have always avoided; because I didn't want to get my new pink shoes muddy! I just switched to SPDs 2 months ago and have been a bit tentative with them. This skinny snuck up on me and I was too close to the muck to unclip with out getting my new shoes gross.............. So I rode it......whew! Adrenaline (:

So, it occurred to me to wonder...anyone else have a clothes induced victory? A "lucky" race shirt? A better ride/run due to new whatever?

sorry to be really slow, but what is a skinny? I can understand not wanting to get new shoes messy though so congrats I guess?

Good for you! That's a very cool story. I have ridden things like that when I didn't think I could. Not because of shoes but often because I'm following someone else and don't have time to think about it.:)

I found this: A skinny is a narrow board or log often suspended high above the ground. This skill will help you anywhere.

A skinny is a narrow board that is often a bridge, though sometimes they are on trails just for the fun of it. I am good with wide bridges; but that was the first time I rode one less than 10 inches wide! So, yeah- thanks for the congrats(:

I always wear my orange hibiscus lei for goal races. I don't think it's a girl thing - plenty of male athletes, including the pros, have lucky garments too!

true story! I guess I thought it was "girly" that I was avoiding mud (: My sons seem to be proud of collecting buckets of it! I just didn't want it on my new shoes! (Give me a month or two.........)

I totally avoid mud...unless I am on my mountain bike. Apparently I am a dirt, dust, and/or mud magnet when I am on the trails and love every minute of it. Go figure :)
