View Full Version : I've missed you!
Hi, girls!
I finally sat down and read a few threads after way too long away!
I've missed you all so much!!
Why the long absence? Well, some strange little catholic guilt part of me thinks that just because I haven't been riding I don't really have the right to hang out here....
and I stopped riding this year long before the weather got too bad for it...
and I don't know if my bad attitude caused the stop in cycling...or vice versa
...I've spent a lot longer feeling sorry for myself than I ever should have and I guess I was too embarassed to share those thoughts with you
I mean, I have so much to be grateful for, that my complaints are just meaningless, really!
The big change is still something I'm waiting for: I keep applying for jobs in our head office in Vernon, and I haven't got an offer yet. At home, DH has moved to weekend shift which means I see him lunches and evenings during the week, and only see him when I wake him up for his next shift all weekend. He's not seeing the benefits to five days off yet, either, because all his days are used up with painting, flooring, doors, windows and bathroom upgrade of our house...when it's time to sell all that work will make the house sell FAST in a pretty soft market.
That and I've reached my uh-oh weight. Kickboxing 2-3 times per week has not been enough.
Minor concerns and issues, but they are enough to occupy our minds to a degree that is probably not altogether healthy.
Thank you all for reminding me of how lucky I really am, and for helping me remember how much I love biking, and I love all of you!
You'll probably only see me on weekends for awhile, but I'll still be reading and appreciating all you have to say!
Thank you!
Namaste,
~Teresa~

Teresa,
It is good to see you back. Even if you are not riding, I am sure I speak for others that we love seeing you on the board anyway.
Welcome back and will be good to see you whenever you pop in.

Teresa,
Thanks for voicing some of the guilt the rest of us feel for not riding in this winter weather. I'll be praying for you on the job front too. Have fun cross training with something else since it's hard to get in bike time. Try something new! This too shall pass and it will make riding your bike that much sweeter when you do.

I was just thinking I hadn't seen you around for a bit! Glad to have you back. :) Oh, and you're not the only one that hasn't been doing much riding. I think I've been out once in the last month.
Thank you Trek and Jo and Dar and Kiwi!
Today I'm at home with a migraine. I'm fortunate that I don't spend hours throwing up with one of these, but I get so I don't function very well and the new fabulous track lighting in the kitchen is torturous!!
It's so nice to have all of you to visit with while I'm here!
Namaste,

Well, some strange little catholic guilt part of me thinks that just because I haven't been riding I don't really have the right to hang out here....What do we need to do to convert you to another belief system? Consider it your rest and rejuvenation period for the winter. We all get the blahs now and then.

Corsair - man you make me laugh - at least this time I wasnt knocking back Darjeeling whilst reading.
Sounds like a good rumour line though (whispers into other forum users ears psst apparently Corsair doesnt even ride) or when posting a response to new member." Yikes dont know from experience though because I never ride." That would have them thinking. :D

Hey Teresa. I don't think I know you yet, but welcome back! When you're feeling overwhelmed by life this should be one of the first places to seek support. No one understands & empathises like the girls here. They're terrific...and that catholic guilt, it's a beauty isn't it? Always sneaks in to make you feel even worse. Fight it with logic, my dear. That'll help keep this demon at bay. I also believe you don't have to be doing a "Lance" in order to communicate with us girlies. Cheers & keep smiling. Yas. xxx
