I have been saving my pennies for the past two years for a shiny new bike. I had the money all saved up to pull the trigger last year, and as Murphy's law would have it my car needed repair to the tune of the money I had saved for my bike. So I'm patient and started again. This summer I was ready. However work kept me busy and I wasn't able to get serious until July. Most of the 2011 inventory was gone at my LBS so I had to travel a little to test ride. Wasn't able to test ride the exact bikes I was interested in, the frame, the size but not the component complement until last week. Finally found a Synapse carbon 3 in a 51 that I could take out on the road. It was the men's version, but geometry was the same -only would need to change handle bars and saddle. The shop was selling the customary 10% off year end models. I decided to think the purchase over for a day or two and not make an impulse purchase. Glad I did! I happened to look on eBay and there was the bike up for auction, brand new in the box with the auction ending the next day. So I waited, waited, put in my bid, and won! Saved myself a grand, had the bike in my hands 48 hours later and this afternoon will have my fitting. Things do work out sometimes.
I'm very excited to joint the Synapse family and to have a long happy relationship with my new baby.
