Has anyone bought a Kindle Fire yet? Do you subscribe to Amazon/Kindle Prime? I've been comparing Nook Color to the Kindle Fire. The Fire can stream movies - are movies included with the Prime Membership? Ebooks look a little cheaper to buy with the Kindle then Nook.

I have Amazon Prime and a Kindle, and my DH's Kindle Fire should arrive sometime next week.
I got a free student membership to Amazon Prime earlier this year when I enrolled in a college program when I was considering a career change. I since put the career change on hold & dropped out of the college program -- but I found I used the Amazon Prime membership a lot, so I ponied up for the full membership.
Apart from the free second-day shipping (which I take advantage of a lot, that paid for the membership IMHO), I've watched quite a few movies and old TV shows on my computer using my Prime membership. I didn't get the Prime membership for the movie downloads, that was just a bonus. Some of my favorite downloads were the three original "Dragon Tattoo" movies in Swedish w subtitles, and all the episodes of "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" (I'm a big fan of Aaron Sorkin). And lots of NOVA episodes. You might want to take a look on the Amazon website to get a feel for what movies and TV shows are available for free to Prime subscribers -- there are a lot, but it's certainly not all-inclusive.
So, I like having the Prime membership, I get a lot of use out of it. Your mileage may vary.
I haven't used the Kindle lending library yet that's available to Prime subscribers.
As for the Kindle Fire, that's not scheduled to be released until Tuesday.

I know nothing about the Nook, and I really can't comment on the price of ebooks on Kindle vs Nook. I think a lot of the pricing is determined by publishers, not Amazon or B&N (there was a very big to-do over the price of the Kindle edition of Neal Stephenson's README, apparently it was the publisher that determined the price. Or so they say).

I thought the Fire came out a few weeks ago. With the Prime Membership can you watch movies on the Kindle? Thank you

1. It was available for pre-order a few weeks ago and is scheduled to be released on Nov. 15.
2. Kindle Fire, yes (http://www.amazon.com/Kindle-Fire-Amazon-Tablet/dp/B0051VVOB2/ref=amb_link_358679822_4?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-1&pf_rd_r=0WNQJA47R1EPGWPZXRA4&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1329991022&pf_rd_i=507846).

Debating on getting the Fire but I prefer not to read books on backlit screens. I like and use my standard Kindle everyday. I have the prime membership mostly because I get things shipped all over the place and I often need to know that it gets there fast. I even buy food from Amazon.
The Kindle lending library doesn't seem to have many worthwhile books, certainly no big new releases. I haven't found a thing I want to borrow.
I have watched a couple of shows downloaded on my computer through Amazon.

Thanks Goldfinch, wondered about the Prime. I browsed some of the selections and didn't see much either.

Here's a hands-on review of the Kindle Fire, which discusses some comparisons to the Nook.

I hope that answers whatever questions remain.

I read the review and had forgotten one significant issue with the Fire as compared to my Kindle--no 3G access. You need to use wifi. That is a big issue for me as I am on the road a good part of the year and use a Verizon mifi for Internet. I have to watch how much data I use and I come close to bumping up on the limits.
Data keeps getting pricier at the same time more and more data is available. Downloading a movie on the Fire is going to cost me too much data unless I happen to be where a wifi signal other than my own is available.
But for people who do not have data limits this may not be an issue.
