"I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now" - Wow, what a great quote, and how fitting for you, you should make that your signature line! :p

Hi Lise,
What a huge difference from 2000. You look great and should be proud off your accomplishments. Yes, biking has so many benefits.

WOW! Biking... triathlon's... etc... have done wonders!
And... it also looks like a great haircut has helped as well!

Yeah...I used to wear my hair long. Then, as things got worse and worse with my ex, I started cutting it off. As I look back, it was my silent protest. (That and the weight gain!) I ended up with nearly a crewcut by the time we were divorced. I started growing it back out the same summer I started riding on that rusty early '80s Schwinn.
Now my goal is to get it long enough that every little piece comes back into a pony tail, and I don't need bobby pins to keep it up when I run. I've dated one guy since the divorce, and the week we broke up (last April), I had the insane thought to chop off my hair. It lasted about 2 seconds, and I got over it. No more. From now on, I get out of a relationship when it's not good. I don't abuse my own body!
The biking (above all), training, and running have given me such relief. That first summer I would wake up in a panic and think, "I can be on my bike in 20 minutes." The ol' Schwinn was such a mess that I bought a book and learned how to fix it up. It gave me something to do other than worry. Hanging out with other athletes, doing races, talking like this, is phenomenal. What a positive, life-loving group. I feel so lucky to have found this--made it happen, really--at this point in my life. :) Lise
