I'll get back to you with what ours is. Ours is a hitch mounted one that the forks fold down on and can carry 4 bikes. I also know they make the same one that carries 2 bikes. I don't remember the brand though, so will need to ask my husband. It's worked great for us for the past several years. We've just bought two carbon bikes, so are looking at another type that mounts inside the bed of the truck for the carbon bikes, but will still use the old one for the aluminum bikes.

I love my Thule hitch rack. It is heavy duty, easy to use, and folds up when I am not using it. Thule's site has a fit-guide, and they have an option (the Revolver) that swings out to the side to allow access to your back door from that direction. It just really depends on what you have and what type of rack you want. I wanted the tray type (T2 (http://www.thule.com/en-US/US/Products/Bike-Carriers/Hitch/917XTR-T2)) - my front wheel sits in a tray and the bike is held down with an arm that goes over the front wheel and a strap that goes through my rear wheel - much like that you see on buses. A good hitch-mounted rack isn't inexpensive, but well worth it.

Check out Thule's fit guide found here (http://www.thule.com/fitguide/index.html?Language=en-US&Market=US) and it will give you an idea what will work with your vehicle. You will also want to check out the fit guides on the Saris and Yakima sites as well for comparison.

Ok, asked my husband what our bike rack is and it's an Allen bike rack.

I have an SUV and use a Swagman bike rack. It has nice features, the bike doesn't hang and the rack accomodates 2 bikes. The rack will fold down so that you can get into the back of your SUV. The rack also accomodates locks if you wish to take the bike somewhere & leave it. Here's a link:
