I am really looking forward to this coming weekend, it is hard to say just how much. I am volunteering at the Brown County Breakdown (think bluegrass festival, bike demos, hundreds of mountain bikers, free beer, epic mountain bike ride) and it is going to be awesome! I am not skilled enough to actually DO the ride, so that is why I am volunteering. Next year I hope to be able to do the short 20 mile route.

That isn't to say I won't be mountain biking though! Friday and Saturday will be getting in all the mountain biking that I can and will be broadening my horizons to start working on a new trail. Weather will be great, and camping with a couple of hundred of new mountain bike friends, it will be great! This is even better than camping in the usual campgrounds because everyone keeps an eye out and for each other.

My mom's surgery hasn't yet been scheduled, but we will likely learn the date Monday - hopefully. This is in the back of my mind as well, and may well be a portion of why I am looking forward to this weekend so much.

Sounds like great fun, and the weather forecast couldn't be better.

Are you getting any fall color yet? We rode a ridgeline this afternoon that should be spectacular in a week or so.

That sounds awesome. Volunteering at events can be so much fun. And I have to say the free beer at a lot of biking events is nice. We did a fundraising ride on Sunday and that free beer afterwards was good, cool, and perfect.
