Today's trainer session started off with things down in sets of 50 - 50 v sit ups, 50 kettle bell "things", etc. The 4th thing was 50 push ups. I think the most I had ever done straight was 35.
Now, it's 50. :D

Wow! 50 of any of those exercises would be impossible for most people! You are an inspiration! Tokie

lol we call those super burpees.
As for not being able to do 50 pushups.... anyone can do it, you just have to being willing to work up to it. You start on your knees, you work up to being able to do ONE on your toes, and work up from there. Granted, it's harder for women, but no impossible.
V- are you doing them in sequence, or mixing the exercises as you work towards your total reps? We do a thing where we are given a list of let's say, 6 or 8 exercises and we have to do 100 of each. We can break it up 5x20, 10x10, 50-30-20 or however we want as long as we get our totals in.

It varies. Today we started with sets of 50, but just one round of 7 different exercises.
Usually I don't do regular pushups - they're plyos or something is on a ball.

I should never count up what I've done in a pyramid. We did medicine ball pushups today in a pyramid going up to ten. Total, 110 or 55 depending on you count them. I will feel that tomorrow. (one hand on the medicine ball, one on the floor, do a push up, switch, do another one, counts as one but it's really two.)
I used to not able to do one real pushup, either.

Just a quick plug for the "100 Pushups" app/program.
You can start with any pushup (wall, knee, full) and it will help you work your way up to doing 100 of them. After that, you can re-test and re-start the program with the next harder pushup
With a little work, we can all attempt to be as stellar as Veronica!

Way to go V! I can't imagine 50 anything with kettlebells.
On the "100 Push-ups" app, just if you're doing them on your own without a trainer, be sure to do the push-ups in good form and balance them with plenty of back and rotator cuff work.
I didn't (despite all my preaching ), and wound up really messing up my rotator cuffs. Nothing permanent, but a lot of pain and expensive massage, and some brief nerve impingement. It's easy to focus on one thing and underemphasize everything else when you're following a program like this one. JME...
I'll faint just from reading this. You're amazing V!
