Correlation vs. Causation.

The most exciting media whoops always seem to come from conflating the two.

Soooo, would my clinically depressed coffee-holic Mummy Dearest be worse if she didn't drink coffee?

Here is the headline:

Coffee can cut depression risk in women

Here is the second paragraph:

The researchers cautioned, however, that the new study only shows an association between coffee consumption and depression risk, and cannot prove that drinking coffee reduces risk of depression in women.

Doesn't the media make ya nuts sometimes?

Maybe it will, maybe it won't

but if it tastes good, and if taking a moment for yourself to indulge in a cup of coffee feels good, why not? whether it helps depression or not.

When things get hectic, there is nothing more soothing that sitting down with a good cup of coffee! I don't care what the scientific data shows overall, but I know t makes me feel good!
