Well given a cycling intensive culture in Denmark, then not totally unusual that pregnant mothers cycle to the hospital when they have their labour contractions... :cool:

This mother to be had to stop several times enroute.

Honest, a taxi ride ..unless it's not faster... :confused:

great story!! it was hard enough for me to get to the hospital in my CAR :eek::eek:

I think it's admirable that some women could, um..bike over to the hospital.

But at that website (Copenhagenize) I actually found it a tad annoying it was...primarily a bunch guys marvelling over this. I realize it can be done (and they have their own stories), but it should never be expected out of woman in labour.

I've never had children, Mimi. But I know my sisters couldn't walk far for a wk. or so. after giving birth. None of them had C-sections. 2 of them were jogging for several years and hence, already in good "fitness" when pregnant, several times.
