I would like to give my SO a bicycling gift for Christmas this year. He is an avid cyclist and I would like to treat him to a 2 day 3 night bicycle trip in our home state (Kentucky). I have contacted the transportation department and requested a copy of the brochure they have on bicycling the Commonwealth. I thought I would pick up the tab for his hotel rooms and meals. Can you think of anything else I need to work into my budget. I've never planned anything like this before so I'm putting all the pieces together as I go along. Any suggestions?
Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you gals.

Bed and breakfasts, good dinner, maybe a massage treatment along the way?

What a fabulous idea...
What about a survival kit... spares, maybe a couple of spokes, a tyre lever, bike bars and a new bottle, etc etc... and as he opens it up and wonders why you are giving him stuff he already has, he would find your "ticket/promise/brochure" tucked up in there...

Thanks for the suggestions, keep them coming. I meant to say I would treat him to a 3 day 2 night trip, got the numbers backwards not that it really makes any difference.
I like the idea of stuffing the brochure in a water bottle. Very creative!
Now of course I have to hope he picks the "fun" gift for Christmas. I gave him the choice between something he needed (a new printer for his computer) or a "fun" gift (this trip). If I know him, like I think I do, he'll pick the fun gift if not I'll give him the trip for his birthday present.
I figure I'll be his personal SAG when he takes this trip unless he invites me to tag along on my bike and then I'll work out the logistics of planting my car at the "finish line."
I hope he enjoys this - he needs to get away and simply spend some time on his bike, not fixing other's bicycles or servicing as a ride captain for our local bike club (he enjoys both but everyone deserves some time doing what they love to do).
Thanks again and I look forward to future suggestions.

Another small thing you could throw in would be a cycling log. I got one at the beginning of year from www.personallogs.com. You can choose your own pic for the cover and then your SO can track all his miles in it.
