The new Rev 3 in Maine is going through my hometown. The bike goes right by where I lived until I was 6.
We'll already be back in school, but it's worth the loss in pay to be able to race in my home town.

Rev3 is fantastic. Granted, I will openly say that I am on their team...but their races have been superb!
Maybe I'll see you there next year!

I am envious of how much school time you must miss to be able to compete in so many cool places.
My principal is not so supportive. :(

Last year I missed 2 for IM Louisville, 2 for IMSG, and I asked for one for the Disney marathon, but we had a snowstorm, and no school...thus I didn't really miss any for it. 4 is pretty good for what I do. I am extremely lucky, and I include my students on the whole thing. They know all about my training/racing, and usually track me on the day (which is fun!). I also do a tri club with them, which is amazing (and increases support to miss days from the whole community).

It's hard to pass up a hometown (whether it's current or past) race.
The rev3 race in Portland (OR) got great reviews, independent of kacie's semi-unbiased opinion. ;) If Ironman CdA wasn't already in my backyard, I'd love to check it out. I'd have to forego one for the other, and it's hard to convince me to travel - Florida will be an experiment, and probably a vacation+race combo.
Ah - it's a 70.3, too, so you don't have to commit to a full Ironman. NICE!

Talked to my principal about it today, since I want to sign up right away. He was pretty cool about it, which surprised me a little bit.
They have a HIM and an Olympic. The Olympic doesn't go through Hollis, where I grew up, so I'll be doing the half. That's two within a month of each other. Guess I'll have to train harder. :D
