I have an opportunity to pick up a SRAM Force gruppo (includes crankset, bottom bracket cups, front derailleur, rear derailleur, shifters with cables, brakes, chain and cassette) for $958 (+ tax) from a LBS in my area. They are running some kind of price-matching offer for a limited time (til 8/18/2011) and are price-matching the SRAM kit price from some outfit in the UK. Does this price seem like a good deal? It does to me, but then again, I haven't done too much research on SRAM pricing.

I haven't comparison shopped any components lately but, at first glance, that looks pretty good! A Rival crankset is ~$200 and a pair of shifters is at least ~$300. I would expect Force to be even more.

Oh, okay...very cool! :D I'll have to clear it with my "financial advisor", aka DH first, but hopefully he'll give me the green light.

Even it is a 2 year old NOS yes its a good deal. Even if the front derailleur doesn't quite match braze on vs clamp on, you can always buy an adapter to mount the braze onto a bike without the braze on.
