Whoo Hoo!!!
Did a 25 mile road ride yesterday at a reasonable speed with no stops, got off the road before the temps hit 99 and didn't feel totally wiped out.
Had a session at the gym with the trainer today. Not as abysmally bad as I feared. No real loss of strength in that I was able to lift pull and push the same weights as before, but some loss of endurance, I lose my breath quickly, but seem to recover just as quickly. The rib and upper chest muscles that run diagonally from the shoulder to the center of the abdomen are stiff and a bit painful, but they will loosen up. I even managed 45 minutes on the elliptical, at very low resistance and an easy cardio speed, followed by a two mile run around the basket ball court after the workout, without being totally wiped for the rest of the day.
Feels like the comeback has begun for real.
One final check up tomorrow along with a quick needle drainage to get rid of extraneous "sloshing" and then this will all be behind me I hope.
