View Full Version : I Hate Germs!

Just wanted to shout it from the rooftops, except, well, I can't because I have a wicked case of laryngitis accompanied by a rather sore and rather nasty looking throat. And the freaking doctor can't see me until Friday morning. Go the NHS!

And to make matters worse, I'm going to have to drag my sick, sorry arse out into some ****e weather this evening as I have a date. I tried to postpone, but the girl in question thinks I'm and playing games and I, valuing my honesty as I do (translation: being the stubborn little snot that I am), have to prove her wrong. Gee. I can just see this one working out.

Grrr. Argh. This is the second time in less than three weeks I've gotten sick. There has not been much bike-riding of late. :(

Thank you kindly for providing me with a forum in which to whisper my frustrations. :o

Sorry to hear you're so ill. Take it easy and get better!

I too hate germs. I have two roommates and have taken to lysoling all the common "touching" areas like light switches, remote controls, etc. each week to try to prevent catching their germs. I also drink hot liquids when I'm in crowded areas as I've read they can help kill germs in your throat. I know it sounds paranoid but like you, I HATE being sick! Taking it easy is one of the hardest things to do ):

UGH! I feel for you... last Monday I was running 101 degree fever all day... until 10pm actually... I am SO not a good patient...

so this date thought you were faking the raspy voice?? Serve her right if she catches what you have then! I hate being called a liar...

Hope you're better soon and that the date is short and bearable... maybe she'll say sorry... get well soon... :)

Tis the season but I hope you shake it soon. I second the lysol spray attack but I'd do it daily if I were you. I also tried a new product that I'm digging so far called Airborne. $6 for 10 alka seltzer like tablets (tastes like slightly carbonated tang) at Walmart. My 3 year old has been sick as a dog this past year in daycare so I tried this at the onset of his latest cold. So far so good and it hasn't developed into pink eye or ear/sinus infection (knock on wood) like it usually does. And if you buy 6 of them you get one free.

Good luck on the date - what a way to start if she thinks you're lieing

Why are you letting her push you around? If she doesn't trust you now, she isn't going to trust you later. Invite her to your house where the germs are the most concentrated and easily shared.

Tea, honey and a silly movie. Get well soon!

 i hope she gets sick too! would serve her right!

i HATE when people come to work trying to spread their germs! last year i was soooo freaking paranoid all season cuz of the flu shot shortage and not being able to get one.... i remember getting so ticked at the movies cuz rude people were there hacking, coughing, spreading their germs.. thank goodness i never caught it! (didn't even catch the colds hubby got! i'm pretty anal about it when he gets sick... i make him sleep in the other room! :D )

GERMS SUCK!

LMAO. You ladies rule. Here I was feeling miserable about having to chew my noodles so thoroughly in order to swallow them and you've gone and cheered me up no end. Alas, I didn't think to gargle with the date's coffee when she wasn't looking. :p (It wasn't an awful evening, but I don't think it will be repeated - she just didn't seem to be the same sparkly person I had met at the weekend.)

One of my friends has been using airborne this year. She really seems to think it works. It might be worth giving a shot.
