I have been riding only about two and half months. It took me several weeks to break the five mile barrier. :( I started as an overweight 56 year old woman who was very out of shape. I have lived an almost completely sedentary life until this year. Today I had the longest ride of my adult life: 20.08 miles. I rock! I also passed someone on my ride. I rule! I also tried biking standing up to get up a hill. I am a road warrier! (Though I only lasted about 20 feet :))

Happy day today. As you can see, I like congratulating myself. :)

Tell me how fabulous you are!

Every milestone is a good one and deserves a moment of celebration.

Way to go.

You do indeed rock!

I am fabulous because I rode (carefully) down a wet switch-backy board-walk on holiday that my far more cycling-experienced sister dismounted for. This was possibly cancelled out however by my riding into a bollard when watching the Mister instead of the track :o

Great news Goldfinch! You do indeed rock, you have made fantastic progress!

Hebe, those are two very different things, so running into the bollard doesn't cancel out your riding down the boardwalk - that was awesome! I would have walked it as well, especially since it was wet!

That's really an accomplishment. Did you ever imagine, in the beginning, that you would ride 20 miles? It's surprising what we can do, so meep up the good work.

My accomplishment was riding my first ever group ride/event on the 18th in the pouring rain for my longest distance ever of 30 miles with hills.

Way to geaux!!! You indeed rock! I did my longest ride over the weekends well, 48miles!! I had no clue that I could do that and my body not feel like it has just pedaled 48miles!! :D the ride was supposed to be between 30-35miles but we had rain all week and the folks I was with obviously missed riding during the week. I kept hearing, how about 10more miles haha

We rock!!'

Congratulations! I'm brand new to riding and the TE forums, and I just finished my first 20mile the other week! It's a great feeling and I'm so excited for you! :)
